The Trouble with Blogs

Hi there! You’ve found my first blog post. I’m Martin. I’m a Husband, DevOps Engineer, Racker, Photographer, and Traveler. I love the idea of making the world a better place while I’m here. And hopefully my journey is interesting enough for you to follow along.

My experience of life is that it is not divided up into genres; it’s a horrifying, romantic, tragic, comical, science-fiction cowboy detective novel. You know, with a bit of pornography if you’re lucky.

– Alan Moore

As you probably noticed, I’ve started a blog.

I tried this once before, back in the days of LiveJournal and MySpace. I found that no matter what I wrote about in my blogs, my social circle got bored reading about tech, and my tech friends got bored reading about my hobbies, and random visitors really had no interest in what I had for lunch. This was the days before smart phones, even before DSL. Blogging was hard work! I’ve recently realized I still have a lot to say, and I’m going to say it, with no regard for genre.

Why did I title this blog, “Dreaming in DevOps?” Well, I like the idea of breaking down walls. Sit back and enjoy the ride.
